Class 5 Final Week

The two beginning shots were what I did in class 5, my first assignment with the monologue now has facial expression and lip synch compare to what I did in class 4. For the last 6 weeks, I worked on my two person dialogue

Class 4 Week 10 - Intro to Dialogue - Refining

Below are few major changes I made:
==============================================
*Move the character's left hand out towards screen right to create better silhouette when he asked for the drink
*slow down the wiping mouth motion as well as giving the hand variation in rotation and finger poses
*Changed the ending part a bit as suggested by wiping the screen instead of pressing the key, I want to show him "trying" to do something to help his embarrassed situation after finding out he made a mistake, hope this works better.
*fixed a lot of stuttering motion, spacing and timing....still have some more to fix...

Class 4 Week 9 - Intro to Dialogue - Blocking Revision

Starting to turn it into spline mode now...but still very rough, I also had to make a few changes based on my mentor's suggestion about the ending, let me know if it looks better than previous ending :)

Class 4 Week 7 - Intro to Dialogue - Blocking

Here's my first blocking pass, got my worst grade ever :) but after looking at it over and over, I think my mentor did have a good point, I need to make my character interaction with the wine glass better

This is what I've changed after getting some useful feedbacks from my mentor, hope it's working better in this one....(this one is due in week 8), I really like the secondary motion in the end where he touches the computer screen, I hope it's not too distracting while help supporting the character successfully.

Class 4 Week 6 - Intro to Dialogue

This week we will be picking 3 dialogues/monologues of our choice and will need to act it out for the animation reference. This is going to be a 5 week project but we are limited to work on JUST the motion, no facial expression or lip synching till next class. We'll be given a new character named "Bishop" with no facial control except for opening the mouth, it's like Bishop with botox done.

Here's my 3 dialogue choices, I really like #1 a lot, my second choice is #3

Class 4 Week 5 - Intro to Pantomime Polishing

Here's my latest version and marks the end of my Pantomime project, not to mention I still have tons of stuff to fix, so any suggestion is welcomed :)

Things I still want to fix:
*Mechanical looking left arm in the beginning
*Adjust the timing a bit, the tree climb is too fast due to frame limit
*Give better pose in the end after he got shoot out to the distance
*Take out squash and stretch in the end (suggested by my mentor), I kinda like it both, what do you all think?
*Tons of other little stuff.....

Class 4 Week 4 - Intro to Pantomime Refining

Converted from stepped mode to spline

Major things I changed were
*give some more movement in the beginning
*make the pose stronger and paused it a a bit after stewie gets up from ground
*took out one wave to reduce the frame by about 15 frames
*refined the pose right before stewie got pulled from the tree
*add tree animation

Class 4 Week 3 - Intro to Pantomime Re-Blocking

Implemented several changes as well as adding one more climb while Stewie's on the tree

Class 4 Week 2 - Intro to Pantomime Blocking

Here's my first blocking pass to my first assignment, hopefully it's reading clear to my audience so far :)

Here are posing exercise I did this week! I feel very productive~~I'm not a big fan of drawing, but I sure love posing in 3D! :) Let me know which one is your favorite, which one I can use a little more work, and see if you can recognize any pose from famous people or professions. Any comment(good or bad) is welcomed and will be a great encouragement to me as always :)
If you have any idea on what pose I can do or a pose you would like to see, please let me know, I'm running out of idea, so help me out here :)

Class 4 Week 1 - Intro to Pantomime Planning

Wow, can't believe I just completed half way through the program, it still feels like it just happened yesterday :) although it's a lot of work, but I'm enjoying every moment of it. The first assignment we will be doing for this class is Pantomime, we'll have to show series of action with two clear emotion/beats and without use of dialogue. Christmas and new years break really help refreshing my mind a lot, I came up with two ideas right away

After receiving the e-critique from my mentor Steve Cunningham(he's totally awesome by the way), I decided to go for story two since we are only allowed single character with no moving camera. So it leaves me #2, although I could try to work #1 story shot out, but I love how I stage my shot and will try to do it in my own time since I always want to do children animation. So time to get busy again!!!! My mentor also suggested us to do exercise by posing the character daily in addition to our assignment, just 10 minutes a day, can be a pose or two. He said no one has commit to this routine in past 2.5 years(not sure if he's joking), but I'm going to try to do it!!! Been doing poses since 1/7, and I'm still on it :)
