This is probably the first time I turn in my assignment and update my blog before 12am :)
However, I wouldn't call it done and there are still many thing I can keep refining, but my eye are pretty sore and I'm sure I'll be able to get a lot of useful feedback so I can target those area once I hear back from my mentor and fellow classmates, and for those who check out my blog of course :)
This shot is super nice, Yu-Ting! Congratulations on all your hardwork! The attitudes read super clearly and the body mechanics are all there. Way to go!
ReplyDeleteI like how the hat is pulled off as the mower goes by him! He really has a great expression when he looks up in surprise. I am really looking forward to seeing how your facial animations are going to be (you need to resurrect Sporkins)!

I think the animation looks great, but at first, I didn't realize he was intentionally kicking the lawn mower.
ReplyDeleteThings I would suggest would be:
On his approach, start off the speed it currently is, but as he approaches the lawnmower, speed up slightly (like field goal, kick off kicks)
On his foot draw back, I would hold the pose for a few more frames of anticipation and so the viewer can take in the intent and possibly maliciousness of the kick, also allows for a nice curve to be put in the pose with the back arched and the leg held back.
Also, on a completely stylistic, opinion point, I think it would be cool, if when he was making his slow approach he would have more arch in his back )hunched forward and his arms curved in, kinda like a troll or a neanderthal to accentuate his rage, so he has more of a lumber.
-Friendly Neighborhood Spider
